Ballpark Broadcasting has signed on to do the play-by-play and color commentary for the 2018 WBSC Jr. Men’s World Championship in Prince Albert, July 7-15.  The event marks the fifth consecutive WBSC World Championship broadcast by the Ballpark Broadcasting crew, and sixth event overall:

Ballpark Broadcasting, the Exclusive Broadcast Team for the:
2018 WBSC Jr. Men’s World Softball Championship
2017 WBSC Men’s World Softball Championship
2016 WBSC Jr. Men’s World Softball Championship
2015 WBSC Men’s World Softball Championship
2014 ISF Jr. Men’s World Softball Championship
2008 ISF Jr. Men’s World Softball Championship

This year’s crew will feature Lance Winn, Joe Todd, Paul “Chico” McCart and Jim Flanagan, as well as three who joined the crew for last year’s 2017 WBSC Men’s World Championship, Kris Abbott, Steve Sabourin and Jason “Chopper” Gerbes.

Winn, Todd and Flanagan have been with BallparkRadio/Ballpark Broadcasting since its inception, will be working their record fifth consecutive WBSC World Championship, while McCart worked previously on the radio side of things.

Sabourin and Abbott work as radio pros in Canada.  Gerbes made his mark on last year’s World Championship with a memorable call on the gold medal winning grand slam home run.

Winn, Todd, McCart and Sabourin hail from Ontario Canada, Abbbot from St. Johns’ Canada, Flanagan from Long Beach, California, and Gerbes all the way from New Zealand.   (BPB regulars Kyle Smith and Blair Setford are unable to attend this year’s event due to other commitments.)

For more about the broadcast crew, visit the broadcaster pages of the Ballpark Broadcasting website, or click their names in this post.

Watch for more details on the broadcast as the event approaches.

Editor’s note: The live stream is not Ballpark Broadcasting’s.  It is via SportsCanada.tv, our frequent broadcast partner, so we heartily recommend viewing. The stream is, as always, outstanding HD quality.  It is being handled by the folks in Saskatoon, with whom we were honored to work with for the 2015 WBSC Men’s World Championship.  We are enjoying it right along with you.
